Wek-bâs (Mû. "Misleader") was a clear condensed venom obtained from the spines of several species of lionfish native to warm ocean shallows, particularly coral reefs. Wek-bâs acted causing sleep plus degeneration of balance and hearing or total paralysis. The raw venom had the same effects but was somewhat weaker.
