Wûran was a Fell Beast that served as one of the Witch-king's pets during the War of the Ring. After the Witch-King lost his horse during his pursuit for the young hobbit Frodo Baggins, Wûran was selected to serve as the Lord of the Nazgûl's mount and served in his search for the One Ring.
