According to Lost tales collected by Eriol, Uolë Kúvion had been an ancient Noldo who had disembodied himself and whose Spirit had entered the Moon-ship. With Tilion and his Manír and Súruli he was believed to be one of the origins of the Legend of the Man in the Moon among Hobbits and Men.
He was one of the oldest elves, a child of the first-elves Tata and Tatië and uncle to Finwë Ñoldóran.
