The Guild of Venturers, or simply the "Venturers", were a league of explorers founded by Prince Anardil (the future king Tar-Aldarion of Númenor) in Second Age 750, for the purpose of exploring Middle-earth. They were also known as the Uinendili (Q. "Devotees of Uinen"), which underlined their character as a quasi-religious brotherhood which had adopted Uinen as their main patron on their dangerous sea-travels. The Venturers were said to have been only a small group even at their height, but they laid the foundations for Númenor's later maritime expansions, and their legacy had enormous influences on Númenor and indeed all of Arda.

Members of the guild were considered the most adventurous men of Númenor, and they indeed ventured to all regions, sailing the Great Sea to the farthest north, south, and east – the west being forbidden to them by the Ban of the Valar. The Guild had no guild-house on land, but was based instead on the ship Eämbar, that Aldarion had built for the purpose. Eämbar was sailed at times to different harbours of Númenor, but was normally anchored off the island of Tol Uinen in the Bay of Rómenna.

The Guild is not mentioned in any canonical source after S.A. 1075 (the end of the reign of Aldarion). This and the facts that his successor Tar-Ancalimë abandoned or reversed many of his policies, and Aldarion's own status as founder, leader, and patron of this small Guild, suggest that it may simply have disbanded after Aldarion's passing. MERP however has Imrazôr the Númenórean as the last Captain of the Guild of Venturers, and the dissolution of the Guild by Tar-Ciryatan in S.A. 1883, following the rebellion of Mûrazor; and the original government of Umbar had been a council of captains elected by this guild.
