Ufrûn (Or. "Feasome one") had been one of the Merfolk, a spirit of Waters, who had joined Ossë's rebellion against Ulmo.However as Ossë repented, Ufrûn remained loyal to Morgoth and followed him into his dark realm.As a demon he remained in his form of a mighty, tall and bearded man, wearing a crown of shell and his body partly covered by fishscales and seaweeds and often imposted to actually be Ossë or even his former master Ulmo himself.In truth however the waters of the deep sea had become unbearable to him and he only was able to exist within brackish, stale or foul waters satuated with the Mordo.Some orc-tribes of later ages remembered him as a lesser deity of dark waters.
