Tyran (Tyr.) was the ancestral language spoken by the Tyr, a group of Mannish peoples in Central Middle-earth during the Second Age. They were descendants of the Talataerim, an ancient folk of the Elder Days, and their tongue evolved as a distinct linguistic branch, influenced over time by both Dragon-Speech and the languages of their neighboring cultures.

By the Second Age, Tyran had diversified into multiple dialects spoken by various descendants of the Tyr, including the Desdursy, Myri, Langur, Vorgani, Dyrians, and Kykurians. Some scholars also considered the Fustir-gost, Ky'taari, and Syrkakar to be offshoots of the Tyran-speaking peoples.
