Trestlebridge was a small settlement of Men along the Greenway approximately two-thirds way between Bree and Fornost.It arthadan times there had been an older settlement whose original name had been forgotten.

The village of Trestlebridge sat directly to the south of a once majestic stone bridge known as the Trestlespan, which had been replaced by a temporary wooden bridge. The bridge, which gave the town its name, crossed over the chasm of Cirith Nur. Once, the royal roads between the north and south of Arnor were heavily trafficked and this bridge served the renowned North-South Road.
After the downfall of the northern kingdom roads and bridges had withered but important junctions and bridges had also been under constant attack of the Enemy, Trestlespan included. In T.A. 3018, the town was attacked in the night by Orcs and much of it was set ablaze.
