An Earth-Kin, or Tree-Man
The Tree-men were a mythical race of Giant-wanderers in the North. They were known from the folk-tales of the Hobbits and may have been identical with Earth-kin or Ogres or other kinds of Giants or be based of old legends about wandering Ents.Some elven legends also told of a race of Tree-men encountered by Eärendil the Mariner on his first voyage somewhere in the Dark regions or Fire mountains of the southern Belegaer in neighbourhood of pygmies and Sarqindi-Ogres.

Within the Game-world of The Lord of the Rings Online, the Earth-Kind or Jörkyn are based on the brief description of Treemen.These Earth-kin are a race of lesser giants or Ogres.
It is unknown what J. R. R. Tolkien's original intentions for "Tree-men" were. By the time he wrote about the Giant or "Tree-man" reportedly seen by Halfast of Overhill he had not yet invented the Ents, only Tree- or Wood-giants whom he envisioned as an evil and sorcerous race.It is quite possible the "tree-men" were neither Ents nor Giants but a distinct race maybe related to the Tavari or "Earthlings".
