Trúsa was a clear paste refined from the venom of the trúsa tree frog, one of a number of related "poison arrow frogs" native to tropical forests. The Trúsa was a small emerald-green frog, rarely exceeding 1.5", easily recognized by its brilliant red and yellow vertical stripes and royal blue eyes. The raw venom could be collected from the frog's back after irritating or frightening the frog. The venom could be used raw or refined; in either case, Trúsa acted killing the victim , causing coma or blindness.
