Timeless Halls
The Timeless Halls (V. Aþāraphelūmān, Q. Úrandëmar) or Hathornai (Ad."The Heavens Above") were the Dwelling of Eru outside Arda and the Void, surrounding the Heart of Eä. The Timeless Halls were said to stretch from the Firmament (Q."Taitelúme") to the Abyss (Q."Undumë"), existing beyond the boundaries of time, space, and the physical universe of Eä. Timeless and unchanging, the Halls are the source from which the Ainur were brought forth and the place where the Music of the Ainur was composed before the birth of Eä. Though they are inaccessible to any within the created world, their influence permeates all existence, as the Halls are the ultimate anchor of divine will and intention.

Inhabitants[]
The Timeless Halls are the dwelling of Eru Ilúvatar, the One, and the eternal home of the Ainur, the holy spirits brought forth by His thought. While many of the Ainur descended into Eä to shape and govern the world, some chose to remain in His presence. These Ainur, known as the Alahíri or "The Undescended," never entered the created universe but remain as stewards of the unchanging harmony of the Halls. Among their number is Aluin, the eldest and mightiest of the Ainur, known as the Keeper of Time.
