The Spire (S."Ceberon": Great Spike or The Spire; BS. "Bûbhosh Thumb”; Kh. “Gabilzirak”) was a rock formation in the middle of the south-central Misty Mountains.
Whether the caves beneath it were first occupied and developed by the Dwarves or Orcs is not known; both races did so at different times.
- "Legend has it, at least among the orcs, that a great and malevolent force caused the stone to rise up from out of the depths of the Underdeeps, to serve as a testament of power, to be worshipped and, on those rare occasions in which it would speak in the Black Tongue, obeyed. Of course this was long ago and now a days the spire stands silent and is rarely visited by any. Even so, its ominous and foreboding presence cannot be ignored or denied... what dark and vile stories could the long faded murals and bits of orcish script, which cover its base, tell of the stone's long forgotten purpose and past? Only the orcs might still know for sure and, perhaps, the dwarves."
