Tëarenga (SW Av. "Iron Tree"; Q. "Angataurë") was buill in the period Y.S. 50-90, well before the founding of Aranórë under supervision of Tiuri-clax and his Aide Khelekar, the recorder. Smaller in sheer size and grandeur than most of the Holds of Ardor, yet strong behind walls of steel and stone, Tëareng was also a meellting place of the Tëarenga Council: a cult of priests and Magicians who held sway over the surrounding forests. Tiuri-clax being a direct lieutenant of Morgoth, Tëarenga's original purpose was two-fold:first to serve as center from which spies could operate to observe the actions of the Númenóreans and Avari in the South during the early years, and second to act as a focus through which could be channeled Dark forces to thwart any powers of good that might arise. Some of the most terrifying manifestations of the later were the Winds of Angataurë. Supposedly a ring of assassins, shrouded in mystery and misinformation, it had been suggested that the "Winds" were actually supernatural in nature. This was purely speculation, but would explain the curious fact that no description of any of the assassins existed. They left only a strange black Iron dagger-like weapon in their victim, and it was said that the first person to the weapon felt a chill wind.
