Sorthog had once been a mortal man of the first age with the name Talarin. He served as a trusted captain under Fingolfin, but was eventually captured by Sauron himself outside the gates of Angband. He was then tormented and infused with Orc-blood as well as demonic power. He served Sauron in various capacities over the next several ages, always remaining as part of his inner circle, and often aiding in rebuilding after the Dark Lord‘s many defeats. After his final defeat and the beginning of fourth age, he jostled for control over the remains of Mordor and began to breed orcs in his fortress. He and his band attempted to instate their own war on the Reunited Kingdom, attempting raids against Ithilien and the Rohirrim. This campaign was thwarted by aid from Elves and Dwarves, and Sorthog was soon slain by his own guards.
