'Silmána also known as Silmírë, Scirána and Silëmmír was a silver powder refined from the stalks of silmanár, a plant related to parsley and water hemlock, native to temperate tallgrass prairies and steppes. Silmána was prepared by boiling silmanár stalks in water, then filtering and boiling the extract to dryness. Silmána burned and scarred the skin; it and similar toxins are used by a number of cultures for personal decoration (scarification) or identification of slaves.
An antidote against Silmána proved to be the Stag's Purse.
