Shaghosh was a Moria Goblin who took part in the incursion which led to the death of Balin's colony. Ever since the incursion, Shaghosh often told tales of a creature that roamed the halls and believed that it still existed. When the Fellowship of the Ring entered the mines of Moria during the War of the Ring, Shaghosh fled in horror when the tales about the creature were true.
