Ambar in the Second Age

Ambar in the Second Age

The Second Age, known also as the Númenorean Age or the Age of the Rings, was a time of rising kingdoms and deepening shadows. It began after the War of Wrath, with the banishment of Morgoth from the world, and was marked by the rise of Númenor, the great island kingdom gifted to the Edain for their valor. While Númenor flourished, Middle-earth fell under the growing influence of Sauron, former lieutenant of Morgoth. He deceived the Elves of Eregion into forging the Rings of Power, while in secret, he crafted the One Ring to rule them all. His growing dominion led to the War of the Last Alliance of Elves and Men, culminating in the Siege of Barad-dûr. Though Sauron was defeated, the One Ring was not destroyed, allowing his shadow to endure. The Second Age ended with his fall, but the seeds of future strife had already been sown.
