Known as the Troll-mother, Sûnûkwâ (Me.:"All beyond the storms") was a female, black scaled demon-troll who oversaw Angband's troll-pits.

Dzunukwa is a black Ogress from Kwakwaka'wakw native american mythology, associated with wealth but also stealing children.Most likely Dzoo-noo-qua was borrowed to the Angband roguelikes from Shadowrun where the term referres to a troll or it's vampiric metavariant infected with HMHVV.
