The Sîr Ninglor (S. "River Goldwater", "River Gladden"[1]) was a minor tributary of the Anduin arising on the eastern side of the Misty Mountains about one hundred miles north of Lothlórien, flowing eastward and terminating in a broad marsh (the Loeg Ningloron, (S.) "Gladden Fields"). Yellow irises grew along the river and among the marshes of the Gladden Fields, hence the names.
