Rioc an Glastanan was the father of Morthec an Gruan. After his father Merro an Glastanan, committed suicide, Rioc took it upon himself to lead his people. Torn between the worship of Sauron and the oath to Isildur, Rioc began to discourage the oath that his grandfather took to Gondor. Hating life and the oath, Rioc taught his son that the oath was a bad omen to his people. Rioc died suddenly and unexpectedly, the death of Rioc would solidify his son's position, to go against Eru and decide not to aid Isildur in the coming days, if he should ask the people of the mountain to go to battle.
