Ringmail is a term often used analogous to Chainmail, though it often was used to refer to the more heavy and primitive variants as those worn by peoples such as the orcs ("kalkan") or easterlings. Ringmail is not to be confused with ring-armour, that is metal rings attached to a coat of leather or textile clothing.
