Redfox

Unlike the common variety (see the Red Fox), the red fox of Calenardhon had truly red, rather than just rust-colored, fur. Understandably, this made them a favorite target of fur hunters. Fortunately for the survival of the species, they were also more intelligent than the average fox. Very clever about avoiding Men and anything that might be a trap, these wily creatures rarely stumbled into death; they had to be be hunted.

Red foxes were canny thieves and stole not only hens and rabbits but also small, brightly colored objects. Unlike almost all other carnivorous mammals, they enjoyed some color vision.
