Rayfbrogan

Rayf Brogan with his pet Ferret

Rayf Brogan was a Southerner who had lived in Combe in Breeland for years. He was a peculiar and contradictive man, taller and more pale than the average Breelander, hinting towards some Dúnadan ancestry, yet he despised and feared the Rangers of the North, but, though being a Southerner himself, he feared and despised the Southerners even more and assumed himself a stout breeish patriot far more than most of the common Breemen did.He gathered with a few likeminded men and Hobbits and formed a troop they called the "Breeland Company" to defend their home from uncanny beasts and unwanted intruders. But known or not to Brogan in truth many of the Breeland company actually collaborated with Rogues such as the Blackwolds and Sharkey's Company, far more than battling them.In the end Brogan regretted many of his former mistakes and decisions and as a changed man agreed to join with the Rangers for the sake of saving his beloved home.

A true excentric, Brogan did not live in a mannish house, but instead lived in a large Hobbit-hole he had acquired.

Notes[]

Brogan is a family name of gaelic origin, Rayf may be an arabic name or a rather uncommon variant of the name "Ralph" ( from norse "Radulfr"), Rayf might be a Westron form.Given a combined Westron- semitic-norse - and Gaelic name Rayf Brogans original home may have been in southern Rhudaur or perhaps northeastern Minhiriath, perhaps the Angle (Rhudaur) or the lands of Faerdor.
