Ríon (S. "Crown-gift") was an Elf of the Second Age, from the realm of Lindon.
History[]
Ríon was part of Galadriel's mission to seek out the remnants of the armies of Morgoth. Like the other Elves under her command, he reluctantly followed her into Forodwaith, where they found an abandoned outpost of the Dark, discovering a mark of Sauron and confronting an ice troll, though none but Galadriel wished to search on to put an end to the Enemy.
Upon their return to Lindon, Ríon and the rest of Galadriel's company were permitted to sail to the Undying Lands for their part in putting an end to the remnants of the Enemy, though Galadriel herself denied this offer. Ríon, Thondir and the others passed into the West.
