Rânakh was a demon-serpent from Morgoth's throne room in Angband.Originally a water-spirit she had been a servant of Ulmo who had joined Ossë in his rebellion against his master.However Rânakh remained loyal to Morgoth after Ossë repented and withdraw to the moist and dark waters of the Underdeeps.
