The Plated-unbird was a species of four-legged unbird. Black or grey in color it had tough skin reyempling broad, flat scales and was surprisingly fast for it's rather stocky appearance. Even it's flat face was covered with this hard , natural armour, making it's eyes and mouth it's only true weak spot. Though it had less pointy teeth than the other unbirds, it had a hard tail-knob acting as an effective club in combat.
Though quite agressive they mostly hunted only lizards, frogs, birds, large insects, and small mammals.
