Pike

The Pike (S. "Caraghâl", lit."Spike-fish") was vicious, and was renowned as the shark of the fresh waters. It had a powerful jaw and wicked teeth, and once it had a hold it would not let go unless it was seriously wounded or it succeeded in biting off a healthy piece of its victim.

Pike fed on crustaceans and shellfish when young, graduating to larger prey as they aged. Adults ate fish and small mammals. Fortunately, Pike rarely attacked a swimmer. This was particularly reassuring to the Rivermen of Calenardhon, since Pike grew up to 7' in length in the Onodló.Once bitten, a victim would not be attacked again, but they had to knock the fish loose.
