Oropher was a Sindar elf who was born during the First age and lived under the reign of Thingol. He was the lord of the Sindar and so-called Dreen elves of Northern Mirkwood until the end of the second age. He was father to Tharanduil and grandfather to Legolas. He died at the end of the second age during the War of the Las Alliance along side Gil Galad.
