Oriz

Oriz (Th. "The Watch") was a city state on the western shores of the sinking plain, in the Far north. It ruled the Northern Sea along with it's big rival Zetta. Both cities were inhabited by the descendants of local Haid and Iameri Easterlings, the Orizians and Zettans. After Zetta's lost wars against the Wizard Aluap and it's loss of domain on Astôs it's power dwindled and it slowly turned into a degenerate dying city of apathy and corruption while younger Oriz on the other hand was thriving, from a secondary outpost into a wealthy city state which could rival and maybe become Zetta's heir and successor.

The regions relative wealth was based mainly on both seafaring nations domination of the dangerous artic shipping route and fur, hide and ivory trade with Astôs in the Farthest east and to some lesser degree from overland trade with Mâlon and the "southern Kingdoms" (including Iardan, Kûbor Sêd,Lûrs Vorganís, Rúbor, Ûster Kryl and the lands beyond).
