Northfarthing of the Shire
The Wildland or Twilight Trace between the Carras and Rood provided surprisingly few problems for the "Hillwatch" of the Northfarthing. Few trails led down into the Shire; the Rangers, the curious hill tribe from the Hills of Evendim, kept the Trace clear of brigands persistent enough to use them. The Hillwatch was the only band of bounders in the Shire to routinely cross the border; they escorted Hobbit fishing and fowling parties to Lake Evendim and the upper Brandywine.
