Nori Lanar during the Days of Radiation
The Nori Landar (Q. "Great Lands"), also known as Kéme or by some as the Símenórë (Q. "Pangaea of Arda"), had been the primordial supercontinent of Arda from which all later lands were formed. It had existed at the very beginning of Arda's creation, during the Spring of Arda and the Years of the Lamps, and had served as the world’s foundation, wrought by the Valar in an effort to shape a harmonious realm before the rise of Melkor's discord.
Nori Landar constituted the heart of the new world — a land of unspoiled beauty that stretched from icy northern reaches to lush southern expanses. Its vastness had been circular and unbroken, ringed by the Ekkaia, the Encircling Sea. At the centre of Nori Landar lay the Great Lake (PQ."Dayayala"), a vast inland sea whose calm waters had cradled Almaren, the first dwelling of the Valar and the seat of their early peace. Illuin and Ormal, the twin Lamps, had stood tall in the north and south, their radiance casting a golden light across the broad Forod (Northern Lands), Ennorath (Middle Lands), and Harad (Southern Lands), which had prospered beneath their warmth.
