Late Helmet designs based on the Noldo masked & Beaked Eagle-Helm
Some Noldorin warriors wore helmets with visors bearing an eagle’s beak, most notably the guards of the Gate of Writhen Iron in gondolin.This kind of masked-helmet type was also known as the Kasien.
The design was probably inspired by the dwarven masks and the great eagles of Cirith Thoronath.

Tolkien´s description of the Noldorin Masks may have been inspired by historical helmets, especially the hounskull and Fuchshelm but perhaps also by the Jousting helm and armet.
