Nisinen (Q."Fragrant Water"; Ad. Nisîlthê) ") was a long, narrow lake formed along the lower course of the river Nunduinë, in the Andustar, the westernmost region of Númenor. Flowing southwestward from the highlands of the Meneltarma, the Nunduinë widened into Nísinen before reaching the great haven of Eldalondë on the Bay of Eldanna.
This lake, situated within the fertile land of Nisimaldar was known for its crystal-clear waters and surrounded by rich, fertile lowlands where many rare and fragrant plants flourished, giving Nísinen its name. Its banks were adorned with golden and silver blossoms, and it was famed for its perfumed air, rich with the scents of nard, lairelossë, and oiolairë, trees that had been gifted to Númenor by the Eldar of Tol Eressëa.
Among these shores stood Már-Nísinen, a hall and garden-retreat of the Faithful, a sanctuary where the scents of ever-blooming elanor, niphredil, and lairelossë mingled with the salt-laden breezes of the western sea.
