Boromir: "Is it not a strange fate that we should suffer so much fear and doubt for so small a thing? So small a thing!"
- J. R. R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring II:10

The Nauglamír (S. "Necklace of the Dwarves", lit. "Dwarf-jewel") was a famed piece of jewelry. It combined the craft of the Dwarves and gems from Valinor; it was of great grace and beauty, which it bestowed on its wearer. Despite its bulk, it sat lightly on the neck.

It later bore the Silmaril rescued by Beren from the Iron Crown, and when Lúthien wore it, it became an artifact more beautiful than anything ever before seen in Arda. But because of the Silmaril it was coveted by the Sons of Fëanor and entangled in the Doom of the Noldor.
