The Númenórean colonies (Q."Mari Númenóriëvar" or "Hérër Númenóriëvar" ; Ad."Bârthâni an-Anadûnê") were those lands conquered or annexed and colonized by Númenór in the Second Age. The first actual colonies had been Vinyalondë, Pelargir and Umbar. Pelargir and later Dol Amroth became the core of Hyallondië which would later evolve into the Kingdom of Gondor while Vinyalondë, Tharbad and Annúminas became Forolondië, which then would evolve into the Kingdom of Arnor, both regions were traditionally settled by the Faithful while all other colonies were dominated by the King's Men. These included Umbar, which once constituted the northernmost part of Pharazain, the Thâni Hazâd, Lond Hallacar, and even Sakal an-Ina and Anarikê on the Bay of Ormal and later Kiltazayan on Southernesse's Great East Continent. Even in the Uttermost East there existed two minor trading outposts, Azrathâni and Kuruthâni. It is unknown if Bôrlôni or Ûrizayan ever were recognized as official colonies, certainly the lands on Vinyanorë taken in possession by descendants of númenórean explorers and Sky-shippers were not, neither were those lands founded by other displaced mariners such as the Tarâni, Adûnalí and Zyedrahir as those seem to have been relatively small groups of people.
