The Murnairturi (Ang."Dark Royal Masters") were the ruling Nobility of Angmar, formally independent or autonomous liege-Lords or Dukes, they traditionally served as the Captain-Generals of the Witch-king.Due to inner strifes and changing political challenges their numbers fluctuated over the time, but typically Angmar was ruled by a number of three to six Murnairturi.Every Murnairtur was assisted by five Ashâkturi (Ang.: "Chief Marshals") who each commanded two Burzâkturi (Ang.: "Lieutenants" or "Lieutenant Generals") everyone of whom commanded four Grîshakturi (Ang.: "Captains" or "Vice Marshals").
During the War of the Ring Angmar´s forces were led by a group of seven War-Tyrants, all of them Orcs and of lesser might and Authority than the Murnairturi of previous times.

Despite of commanding a similar number of about 5.000 Soldiers, similar to an Afûkhaush or Urdânuk of Gorgoroth and Dol Guldur the Mornaturi held much more independence, more similar to local Dukes, rather than military commanders.
