Milnîlot Brinditlin (Av. "Marigold of the Marchfoots" or "Yellowblossom of the Highfoots") was an ancestor of the Halflings in the Second Age.

She lived in a time when her people were very reclusive, and virtually unknown to the entire rest of the world.

History[]

Milnîlot was the second wife of Lîrimo Brinditlin. She was a loving stepmother to the daughters from his first marriage; Ilnrî and Smilna. She cautioned Nrî about going off trail when she learned she'd gone outside the camp, noting that while Big Folk, Elves and Dwarves had their own lands, the Fasattâli only had each other.

Notes[]

Few details have been released about this character. This is from an upcoming work, so is subject to heavy changes.

  • Original Name: Marigold Brandyfoot = Mālinaloth(a) B'randâtâli = Milnîlot Brinditlin

This character's name has been rendered in modern English, although typically Hobbit names are not translated until the later Third Age. Also the Hobbits did not start to bear family names until the 24th century of the third Age, their ancestors only had personal names; though perhaps this can be seen as a rarely-incorporated clan name of some kind.
