A Master of the Wild is a person who masters wilderness and the forces of nature.A Master of the Wild may be a Ranger, Wanderer, Hunter and Trapper, Herbalist, a Tamer or Beastmaster, Hermit, Barbarian or Feral.

The Master of the Wild is an elite Order in the Lord of the Rings Role-Playing Game while a common character adapt to surviving in the wilds is considered a Barbarian.Rolemaster has similar professions with the Beastmaster, Druid, Forcemage, Indurate, Venturer, Witch and Yamabushi.The Loremaster of LOTRO is a very similar Class.
