Malezar, was a terrifying figure. A self-taught sorcerer, he became a vampire after entering the service of the Ulair known as Adûnabêth the Quiet. Once the Lord of the Knifeless Ones (the Monks of Ereg Eiren) Malezar was corrupted by the Nazgûl Adûnabêth of Vamag in TA 1616.This affliction tortured his body as well as his soul, and his skin resembled coarse leather. His deeply-set red eyes conveyed the burning hatred of an ever-twisted mind. They seemed like the last vestige of his power, for Malezar's gaunt frame shrouded his strength.He controlled a nocturnal army of frightful undead warriors known as the Eyes of Malezar. These formidable Wights planned to embark on a campaign of horror and conquest that would enable their bloodthirsty Lord to rule all of the Irid Laranor.

Malezar wore enchanted black Wereworm skin armor, a gold circlet which acted as spell adder which was adorned with his symbol and. when he concentrated, the symbol would glow.
