The Machine-Tribe (Orc."Goid-Hai") were one of several orcish tribal confederations into which the Orcs of Mordor had split after the Fall of Barad-dur in the War of the last Alliance. The Goid-Hai delighted in the cult of the machine, engines, explosives, steam and fire and were cunning smiths and technicians. After Saurons return during the years of TA 1980-2002 the remaining machine-Orcs were reorganised and redistributed into newly founded Tribal coalitions, many were deployed to the industrial region of Udûn or to units where their masters found them useful as engineers, Workers and Sappers.
