Médhor (Av. "Pine-dew"?) was a Silvan Elf of the Second Age.
History[]
Médhor was a part of the garrison occupying the Watchtower of Ostirith to keep watch over the Men believed to be likely to associate with Morgoth, though the outpost was decommissioned by command of Gil-galad in Lindon. Shortly before this happened, he spoke with Arondir about his love for Bronwyn, speaking of the tragedy that often came with the 'doomed' love of Elves and Men, and how such unions were exceedingly rare in the history of Middle-earth.
Many Elf-guards of the land were captured by an ambush of Orcs, and Médhor was enslaved in the camps with Arondir and Revion. While plotting to escape, the Elves refused to cut down a tree which the Orcs believed to block their path. At first, the Orcs offered the Elves water for showing 'strengths', but used the opportunity to treacherously slay Médhor, who was last to finish the water.
Notes[]
Médhor in theory could be Sindarin, but would mean "wet-aged", a rather unfitting name for a person.More likely "Médhor" is intended to represent an unknown Nandorin or Avarin dialect.
