Low Lake below Long Fell

The Low Lake Cavern (Hi."Úam Domnu"; S."Gath Haugnen") lay beneath Long Fell. But for the island at its center and a pair of rocky shelves that served as the lower landings of the stairways that entered the chamber, the lake occupied the whole of the cavern that bore its name. Hundreds of graceful Loons tread the water and, at night, turned the chamber into a choral hall.
The cave had a two hundred foot high ceiling and measured about four hundred across at its widest point. Rich deposits of colorful minerals and copper-bearing rock lent it an air of enchantment.
The Fell Stair descended down the face of Long Fell into the cavern on the north-east side, and the north-eastern terminus of Low Road entered Low Lake Cavern from the south-west.
