Lintanar was an honorable Guard of the Citadel of Minas Tirith. Unlike many other guards, Lintanar was shown to have a warlike side and was highly loyal to the Ruling Steward Denethor II. He also refused to accept Aragorn, son of Arathorn II, to restore order to Gondor as the new king, and once threatened Gandalf that should ever try to remove Denethor out of power, he would have him arrested.
