Kharadûne (Aden."Araden", An."Hyarn",Ap."Norpûza") was situated along the southwestern coast of Middle-Earth, between the Belegaer and the western flank of of the Tûr Betark. The river Norpûl (Ap."Woods-river") formed its northern border. Although colonized by Númenóreans, it was actually an Aden realm founded by Apysaic-speaking Haradrim. Relatively pure-blooded Adena resided throughout the inland, most of which was semi-arid scrub or grassland. More wealthy mixed-blooded descendants of the Adan settlers, the Kharadûnaim, lived by the coasts or in the rich river vales along the area's northern boundary. Many of the latter group dealt in the region's numerous timber products.
