Imrahil

Irolas (T.A. 2955 - FO 171) was an honorable Gondorian officer who lived in Minas Tirith, Gondor's fine capital in the late Third Age.

Notes[]

  • In the commentary of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, editors have stated he was originally to be called Beregond, but as the role was reduced, Peter Jackson saw little use in still calling him Beregond.
  • the Lord of the Rings TCG and other movie merchandise give contradicting accounts on this character, who remains unnamed in the movies. Some identify him with "Imrahil", while others identify him as "Irolas", most likely a typo for "Iorlas. "Irolas" is a pseudo-Sindarin name with no working etymological base for it in any of JRRT's languages.
