Irdori (Av. "Exalted Land"; S. Ardor: "Great Land"; Ad. Ûrêzâin: "Sunlands") was a remote region of Middle-earth, roughly corresponding with the lands south of the Tûr Betark (Yellow Mountains). Irdori was an old term used by the Elves who arrived here first and gave the land they loved this name. This appellation was almost forgotten except by the Elves.Only the inner circle of the Court of Aranórë, which was dominated by corrupted Noldor-Exiles used their Quenya name Aranórë among themselves, which was widely unknown outside of the court itself and ancient númenórean archives.

Original form in MERP:Ardor = Aranórë = Irdori
"Ardor" is Sindarin, however Sindarin was a language not spoken in the Utter south and not used by proud Noldoric supremacists as those dominating the Court of Aranórë, who almost certainly would have used their native Quenya as they despised the lesser elves and Sindar in particular.The native Avari, even those associated with the court would have used their own Avarin name instead.
