The Shade Iorâl Shadowsword (S."Eagle-wood" or "Old Wood"?) was a member of the secret cult of assassins led by Gontharan of Dol Amroth.Dressed all in the Shades’ chosen grey, this tall man cut an imposing figure. His face was covered by a swath of cloth and his hands were gloved. Across his back he slung a light Broadsword and in his belt were several throwing knives. He carried a twenty foot coil of rope with a grappling hook slung around one arm and a set of thieves picks were in a pouch at his belt along with two carefully wrapped glass balls in which his master had placed a spell of stunning which would effect all except the caster within a ten foot radius by causing them to be stunned for one at last a few eyeglints. His robe was also magical and allowed a servant of his cult the power to become invisible once per day. This invisibility was limited in that its subject could not move in any way without cancelling its effect. Finally, he had, in with his Picks and the glass ball a potion which would allow him to see clearly even in total darkness, though it would not aid him in seeing through smoke or mist.Iorâl was tough and wiley. He had a strong sense of honor which would rule out the possibility of surrender under any circumstances but would not prevent his use of ungentlemanly tactics to inconvenience his pursuers. His training had led him to hold all who were not of his order in contempt but he was unlikely to underestimate the skills of an adversary more than once.
