Indis Almáriel (N) was a beautiful daughter of Ingwë Ingweron. She was sister to Ingil Ingwion and the second child of the King of the Vanyar. She, like her father, dwelled near the foot of Taniquetil and was very wise. She grew in wisdom and power from the teachings of the Valar. Like her brother, she saw the need to save middle earth from the taint of Morgoth--and upon Eärendil the Mariner's plea, she went with the Host of Valinor to battle.

In The Nature of Middle-Earth only two children of Ingwë's, a son, "Ingwiël", and a daughter, "Indis", are mentioned, while another Quote suggests he had many children.
