Middle-Earth in the Elder Days, after the fall of the Great Lamps
Illuin (Av. "Illûgni") or Helcar (Av. "'elekara") was one of the Lamps of the Valar made by Aulë. The Mountain Illuin stood in the northern part of Middle-earth, and after the overthrow of the mountain by Melkor the Inland Sea of Helcar was formed there.
