Hyarastorni

Hyarastorni (Q. "Southern Downs"; Ad. Kharâgad) was a pastoral region in the Mittalmar of Númenor, renowned for its vast grazing lands, gentle hills, and fertile meadows that stretched between the river Nunduinë and the highlands of Emerië. It was the seat of the lordship of Hallatan, a nobleman of Tar-Meneldur's court, who was often called the Sheep-lord due to the prominence of sheep-farming in the region.

Among its notable settlements were Cemendur’s Hall, the White House of Erendis, and Hallatan’s Manor, which served as the ruling seat of the Hyarastorni lands. It was in S.A. 882 that Aldarion, the great seafarer and heir to Númenor, came to the White House of Erendis, seeking his estranged wife. However, upon being coldly received, he departed in anger to the house of his cousin Hallatan in Hyarastorni. There, he witnessed the warm reunion of his companion Ulbar and his wife, a sight that deepened his bitterness. In a moment of wrath, Aldarion gifted Ulbar’s wife a fiery red jewel—a token originally meant for Erendis—before riding away toward Armenelos, his heart heavy with resentment and sorrow.
