Hweleyr (Th. "Rippers") were huge vulture-like birds native to northern Middle-Earth.They could reach a wingspan of up to 26 ft and had grey-white plumage.

The Hweley replaces the bird simply called "Condor" in the "Shade of the sinking plain" sourcebook, as Condors are only native to southamerica.
